Baldwinbegan the publication of the Worcester Magazine, devoted to local his-tory, still consulted and valued. All phases of Worcester history claimedMr. Lincolns interest. When the National jEgis was first published, heedited it; he also edited the Journals of the Provincial Congress, Com-mittees of Safety and County Conventions (1774-75). ^^ ^^35 ^^■Lincoln represented Worcester at the General Court, and served as amember of the Judiciary Committee. In 1837 his history of Worcesterwas published. Mr. Lincolns death occurred October 5, 1843. Hewas profound and learned for his years, said Governor Emory Washburn,the diligent student with his ever-ready fancy and playful wit, thegenial companion, and the man of taste and letters. An interesting anecdote is told by a man who evidently knew Lincolnswoods although he might not have been aware of the owners care of the 39
