English: Fort Randall surved as a military outpost along the Missouri River from 1863 to 1892. In 1875, soldiers stationed at the fort erected this chapel. Upon abandonment, the fort buildings, except for the chapel, were sold at auction. After many years of deterioration, the National Park Service assisted the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in stabilizing the remains in 2003.
