Summary[edit]

Description Through the room with the filter systems into the generator room. There are new filters here for nuclear threats which have never been in operation. Apart from the big diesel machines, the plant is in operation and please do not touch anything. If troops were in the fort on duty, two of the three generators were in operation for 4 weeks around the clock, to satisfy the needs of electricity. On one day, the generators consumed about 1,000 liters of diesel. With a stock of 200,000 liters, an autarchic operation time without replenishment was possible about seven months. The engines were started with compressed air on cylinders 1 and 2. For the current emergency operation, a smaller generator from a «Migros» supermarket, which was no longer needed is installed. The size of this power station clearly suggests that this fortress is something of a small underground city. Military fortress «Furggels» above Pfäfers, St. Margrethenberg, Switzerland, Sep 25, 2010.
