| Description |
English: Former taxi office This unusual building at the corner of Victoria Road and Russells Crescent is currently standing empty, the taxi firm having moved its local offices to the Balcombe Road in around 2006. Previous uses have included a shoe repair shop, with use as a takeaway outlet having been proposed on a number of occasions in the past, but refused due to traffic and parking concerns. Planning permission has now been applied for, and approved, for conversion to a hairdressers.
A building is shown at this spot, conveniently close to Horley Station, in a 1912 map, although I have not been able to ascertain whether this is the same one, and what its original use was. |
