Summary[edit]

Description
English: Foreshore at West Runton During an exceptionally low tide. The white outcrop seen in the distance is chalk, exposed only at low water. It is composed of calcium carbonate from the remains of microscopic marine organisms that once lived in a warm shallow sea which covered this area between 62 and 132 million years ago. The rocks lining the small pool seen at bottom left are flint nodules.
