New Orleans: 1910 photographic panorama of the foot of Canal Street during Carnival.

I think this likely shows the arrival of Rex from the River on Lundi Gras, the day before the Rex parade on Mardi Gras Day. -- Infrogmation 22:58, 1 December 2007 (UTC)

Visible are, from left to right, the Mississippi River with Algiers Point visible in the distance, a docked steam-ship, the old Canal Street Ferry terminal, levee front open space used for unloading loose cargo in the era, and the block of Canal Street up to the Railway Terminal at right. Crowds line the sides of the street; a small group of figures in costume, horses, and a small float seen right of the Ferry terminal.
