Description |
Triptych. On the central panel the three magi pay tribute to the Christ Child, who is sitting on the virgin Mary's lap. On the left shutter Joseph is collecting water from a pond. On the right shutter the retinue of the three kings is shown. The central panel is taken from that of Bosch's famous triptych of the Adoration of the Magi in the Prado in Madrid. The shutters, as well as the exterior of the Upton House triptych, are new inventions. |
