Summary[edit]

Description
English: A portrait of the Italian actress and singer Virginia Ramponi Andreini, also known a "La Florinda", (1583 – c.1630) from The Feather Book, a series of images made entirely of bird feathers. The creator was Dionisio Minaggio, the Chief Gardener of the Duchy of Milan. The book primarily contained images of birds but also contained sets of images depicting hunters, tradesmen, musicians and commedia dell'arte actors. This portrait (plate 106) is from the collection of commedia dell'arte actors.
