Summary

[edit]
Description
English: Floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains have killed more than 150 people across South Asia during July 2020: areas most affected are Nepal, Bangladesh and India where four million people have been displaced in the worst floods in years. This image, acquired by one of the Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites on 17 July, shows areas flooded by the Brahmaputra River in the Kurigram District and the Raumari Upazila (Bangladesh, on the left of the image) and Assam (India, on the right of the image). High resolution open data from Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellites allow accurate delineation of flood extent and damage assessment.
