Description

Members of the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies joined together September 20, 2012 on the West Front of the Capitol and hammered nails into a plank on the site of the platform where the President will take the oath of office on January 21, 2013. From left to right: Architect of the Capitol Stephen T. Ayers, Senator Charles E. Schumer, Senator Lamar Alexander, Senator Harry Reid, Representative John Boehner, Representative Eric Cantor, Representative Nancy Pelosi.

The Presidential swearing-in takes place on Monday, January 21, 2013, since January 20, 2013, is a Sunday. S. Con. Res 35 established January 21, 2013, as the official date for the Inaugural.
