Description

NEW YORK (Nov. 6, 2012) Sailors assigned to the amphibious transport dock ship USS San Antonio (LPD 17), look at the Statue of Liberty at Freedom Island, N.Y. before assisting with dewatering operations in the building during operations supporting Hurricane Sandy relief efforts. The U.S. Navy has positioned forces in the area to assist U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM) in support of FEMA and local civil authorities following the destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy.
