Description

November 4, 2009.

A large number of AZ111-A2 fuses were found on board the ship along with the illegal weapons. These fuses are manufactured solely by the Iranian armament industries (www.iramig.ir/Default.aspx?PageID=52&RelatedID=IlwNIwfr) and were found affixed to the 9,000 60 mm, 81 mm and 120 mm mortar bombs which were hidden on board the Francop.

According to Jane's Ammunition Handbook (www.janes.com/articles/Janes-Ammunition-Handbook/AZ111A2-...) Iran developed the AZ111A2 fuse specifically to meet Iranian Army requirements.
