Summary[edit]
DescriptionFlandern 1917.jpg |
English: French Attack at German dugout, Flanders 1917. Probably third Battle of Ypres (more commonly referred to as Passchendaele) in 1917, the French First Army (Commander Francois Paul Anthoine) guard the British northern flank across the Yser Canal. The attack started on 31 July 1917. The French were halted by the German Fifth Army under Max von Gallwitz. - Other descriptions: Verdun, Champagne, compare for example on the commons File:GermanInfantry1914.jpg
