Description
English: Flag of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England, UK. Heraldry dating from the 1920’s using the traditional and unique symbols of Doncaster including the sitting lions holding a white rose of Yorkshire in their mouths, a castle upon a red field symbolising Doncaster’s Roman heritage, a Saxon crown representing Doncaster’s position within the Kingdom of Northumbria (Doncaster was part of Tostig Godwinson Earl of Northumbria’s estate) and the lion sitting on a ermine pillow holding a flag with a castle and the words “Don” written on it.
