Source Drapeau ou Echarpe de la Province de Luxembourg - Le blason du Luxembourg est aujourd'hui commun au Grand-Duché de Luxembourg et à la Province de Luxembourg, les deux parties du Duché de Luxembourg séparées par les traités de 1839. L'origine de ce blason remonte au XIIIe siècle. Il est le signe d'Henri le Blondel, fils de Waleran IV et d'Ermesinde, laquelle Ermesinde ( dont les restes sont conservés dans le site de son abbaye de Clairefontaine, à Arlon ), est la fondatrice du « duché » de Luxembourg.
