Description

PH Coll 794.38

In 1906 Capt. Judy built the 75-foot gasoline-powered ISLAND FLYER to maintain a Bellingham-Anacortes passenger and freight service previously served by the chartered launch YANKEE DOODLE. In 1912, the ISLAND FLYER was owned by George Sailing and operated on the Everett-Mukilteo route. On August 16 of that year, in Everett, the steamer SIOUX struck steamer CAMANO, which in turn struck and sunk the ISLAND FLYER. (Source: Newell, Gordon, ed. "The H.W.
