Summary[edit]

Description
English: Baroque statue of Madonna and Child. The wooden statue originally stood in the choir loft of the Benedictine Sisters Convent in Warsaw (17th century Kotowski Palace).[1] During the Warsaw Uprising the church and the convent were transformed into an insurgent hospital and a shelter for the inhabitants by the nuns.[1] The statue was destroyed during the severe bombing of the hospital by the Germans in 1944.[1]
