| Description |
This is field 1, the one right next to the road. Generally it's where we have the Pick-Your-Own flowers, but this year we put the cherry tomato maze in there also. We just finished filling this field and are working on other areas of flowers. The walkways between the rows are seeded with annual ryegrass and white clover. The annual ryegrass comes up quickly and grows fast (too fast -- we have to mow it two or three times a week) but it doesn't hold up all season with a lot of foot traffic. The white clover takes a while to get established, but it's tough and stands up to the foot traffic. So in the early summer we have grass walkways and in the late summer and fall we have clover walkways. This panorama was made from five photos using Photoshop. See how it looks a week later. |
