a wild ferret lying sedated while a veterinarian examines it

A sedated black-footed ferret gets a checkup from the vet. Wind Cave closely monitors the health of it's ferret population. Each fall, park biologists capture as many black footed ferrets as they can. Captured ferrets are sedated, vaccinated, and microchipped before being returned to their burrow.
