Description 15th-century portrait painting with Unidentified or UnknownUnknown , artist and year.
Description
English: In this portrait the queen can be seen with a necklace very similar to the one described amongst others by H. del Pulgar, and it could be the precious jewel that was given to Isabel when asking for her hand. If it is the same piece, the magnificent twist of gold with rubies and pearls in the form of a tear, we would be seeing the necklace that belonged to Juana Enríquez, mother of Fernando II of Aragon and to other queens of the crown of Aragon. It appears that the portrait was originally done of the whole body and the motives for the mutilation of the canvas are not known.
