English: This miniature shows Ferdinand, Prince of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, aged nineteen, in the year of his marriage to Maria II of Portugal. He wears the uniform of the Portuguese cavalry and the star of the Three Orders of Portugal (Christ, Aviz, and Saint James).
Português: Esta miniatura mostra D. Fernando, Príncipe de Saxe-Coburgo e Gotha, com 19 anos de idade (no ano em que se casou com D. Maria II de Portugal). Enverga uniforme de cavalaria portuguesa, e a estrela das Três Ordens de Portugal (Cristo, Avis, e Santiago).
