English: Fences by Smallacombe Downs The old, parallel, fences (one with stone posts, one with wooden) indicate the edge of a narrow tongue of access land extending south between Lowlands Down and the forested Smallacombe Downs (right). This edge of the plantation is open, with scattered conifers, possibly struggling on the boggy ground by a tributary of Withey Brook. On the horizon is Halvana Plantation. |
