| Description |
English: Illustration of hypothetical psychological feedback loops. The components may reinforce each other (A), leading to an increase in each component until some boundary condition is met (e.g., energy limits), or the components may inhibit each other (B), leading the individual to stably oscillate between high and low values of the components. This concept of feedback loops is rooted in complex dynamic systems theory as it is used in developmental psychology (see for example Van Geert, 1994). |
