Summary[edit]

Description

Some of the highest concentrations of PCBs were found in this area where the Acushnet River first meets New Bedford Harbor.

As a safeguard to the families living along this small area of the Acushnet River, PCB contaminated shoreline soils and sediment were excavated in February and March of 2001, and the area was replanted with native saltmarsh species.
