Edge. riNE FOR ILLEGAL SLAUfiHTERING The Renishaw (Derbyshire) magistrates on Mondayheard a case in which a charge ot the illegalslaughtering of cattle under tlio Food Orders waspreferred against Adam Siddall, farmer, of Dore.Mr. Scorah (solicitor), of Slieflield, prosecuted tor(he Food Committee. The evidence showed that onApril 29 defendant bought nine sheep and two beastsat a store sale at Dore, and these were taken to thefarm premises by a lad in his employ. The sameevening three or four butchers came trom Sheffieldand slaughtered one beast and four slieep, wHlchthey took away with them, .subsequently retummgand slaughtering the remainder. The animals wereslaughtered in a cowhouse, where there was notproper tackle, and the men were kiUing the beastsat between one and two oclo<k in the morning.
