Summary[edit]
DescriptionFalsepass ak port2010.JPG |
English: The Port of False Pass, Alaska. The facilities for the new port are now in place. The Port of False Pass is located on Isanotski Strait, midway between the Bering Sea on the north and the Gulf of Alaska on the south. The north entrance-channel to Isanotski Strait is buoyed by USCG and can accommodate vessels up to about 200 ft long. As a result, virtually all boats destined for northern Alaska coming from the lower '48, south-eastern and south-central Alaska, use this pass. Isanotski Strait is free from winter pack ice and only rarely experiences loose drift ice during the coldest winters. |
