English: Offered for sale by Abbott and Holder in November 2021, when it was described as "Face and figure study; a Republican smoking his pipe. Pencil and oil on card. c.1860. Inscribed verso: ‘
M’avevat […] I nervi mi tremau di […] ancora in questa stanza
’. Ex. Collection: Edward Croft-Murray. 11.5×7 inches.". Translation: "I had [...] My nerves trembled from [...] still in this room".
