Description |
English: Heart of early Cook Inlet Salmon Trap. Bottom under entire trap was bare at low tide, and all fish had to be removed between tides to prevent trap from being washed away. While these traps appear primitive and flimsy as compared with those of today, one such trap used by the Kasilof Cannery from 1882 to 1892 frequently furnished salmon to keep two fillers busy for 19 consecutive days
