Русский: Такие балки выставлялись перпендикулярно борту военного судна, времена броненосцев, и к их концам крепились противоминные сетевые заграждения. Балка называлась "выстрел". Название скорее всего имело в виду минимальное расстояние взрыва мины от корабля, на котором корабль не несёт повреждения. Также к концу "выстрела" крепили шторм-трап, к которому подходили шлюпки для высадки или посадки людей, - из-за сетей невозможно было подойти к борту судна вплотную.
