Stadt Frankfurt am Main, Stadtteil Nied: Im kommunalen Forst Niedwald befinden sich an dessen nördlichem Rand zwei linke Altarme des Flusses Nidda – der Grill’sche Altarm und die Waldspitze. Beide entstanden bei der Begradigung des Flusses in den 1920er-Jahren und sind seit 1991 Biotope im Landschaftsschutzgebiet des Frankfurter Grüngürtels. Das Foto zeigt den Grill’schen Altarm, mit 29.000 Quadratmetern Wasserfläche der größte an der Nidda. Ansicht vom westlichsten Ufer des Altarms, Blick nach Osten.
