| Description |
Deutsch: Verlauf des Flusses Nidda in Frankfurt am Main: Das Wehr Höchst war in den 1920er-Jahren zur Flussregulierung erbaut worden als das letzte Flusswehr vor dessen Mündung in den Main. Das Wehr wurde im Jahr 2013 größtenteils abgerissen, um eine Renaturierung des Flusses an dieser Stelle und damit Fischwanderungen flussaufwärts zu ermöglichen. Die Staustufe wurde durch eine rauhe Rampe ersetzt, das Wehrhaus am rechten Ufer blieb erhalten. Die zwischen den Stadtteilen Frankfurt-Höchst und Frankfurt-Nied über das Wehr führende Fußgängerüberquerung des Flusses wurde durch den Neubau einer Fußgängerbrücke wenige Dutzend Meter weiter flussaufwärts ersetzt.
