Summary[edit]

Description

First Day Cover (FDC) of the Faroes Islands; 2016; commemorative cover to the topic "Jesus of Nazareth"; miniature sheet (German: "Kleinbogen") with 10 stamps showing wooden relief wall decorations with scenes from the life of Jesus Christus by the artist Edward Fuglø (* 1965 in Klakvik) after reliefs in the Christus-church of Klaksvik (= "Christianskirkjan in Klaksvik") which there were created by the cabinet maker and teacher at the "Technical School" in Klaksvik, Sjörður Sólstein. The reliefs are plastically (3-dimensional) and have a round form (round = symbol of the eternity). They were carved from 2 cm thick birch-plates in the style of the Pop-Art of the 20th century with kubistic tendencies but are "Biblicalhistoric" simple, have college-kind outlines and are painted with Acryl-colors.; The stamps are postmarked with a round lineless first-day cancellation with 30.0 mm diameter from Tórshavn,
