CANTALOUPE.
2 Ounces Seed to 400 Yards Eow. 4 Pounds to the Acre.
Extra Early Netted Gem Cantaloupe.
me Arundel Cantaloupe.— This is an im-
provement on the well-known Acme Cantaloupe
growing fully oO per cent, larger, and owing to its
very thick, solid flesh will weigh nearly twice as
heavy. Notwithstanding its large size, it is ready
for picking immediately after the extra early sorts,
is a heavy yielder and bears shipment well, its shape
enabling it to resist pressure much better than the
rounder melons. A specially valuable quality is the
hardiness of the vine and its freedom from the blight
which attack many varieties of cantaloupe in bad
seasons. It will often continue to bear good fruit
when other vines have entirely succumbed to unfa-
vorable weather. The Anne Arundel is sure to be-
come a great favorite for both market and family use.
Packet, oc. Ounce, 10c. Quarter pound, 15c.
Half pound, 2oc. Pound, 40c.
The Banquet. — A new, medium sized melon of
perfectly round shape, with skin densely netted over
its entire surface, making it in appearance one of the
handsomest melons ever seen. The flesh is dark,
rich salmon color, uniformly thick and of granulated
character, indicating a good melon. In flavor it is
anequjkiled, rivalling the Emerald Gem.

Extra Early Hackensaek Cantaloupe.—
A. thorough trial of this Cantaloupe has proven it to
be ten days ^ earlier than all the netted melons;
tveight from four to ten pounds each, and delicious
^avor.
Papers, 5 and 10c. Quarter pound, 15c. Half
pound, 25c. Pound, 40c.
This melon continuously grows more and more
into favor with growers, shippers and buyers. It
must not be judged by the trastiy stock which is so
often sent out. The true stock is globe shape, uni-
form size and weighs about 1 lo 1^ pounds each.
The meat is thick and light green in color, and
always has a fine, luscious flavor. It is very prolific
and is grown extensively for Northern markets,
where it commands satisfactory prices. Our stock
is very select and we have a large quantity to meet
the Remands. Packet, oc. Ounce, 10c. Quarter

ocky Ford Cantaloupe.
(Direct from Rocky Ford, Col.
Is the Improved Xetted Gem, a variety that will
lead in popularity as soon as its additional merits
become known. It is oval in shape, which gives it ad-
ditional strength to stand shipping. We regard it as
one of the veiy best and mo.^t profitable extra early
melons in existence for market gardeners and ship-
pers. Nothing among the green-fleshed varieties
surpasses it for quality. The flesh is fine grained,
deliciously sweet and smooth as butter. Packet, 5c.

soil is preferable. Enrich each hill with decomposed

It can be used where it is unknown whether any enhancements have been made, as well as when the enhancements are clear but insufficient. For known raw unenhanced scans you can use an appropriate {{PD-old}} tag instead. For usage, see Commons:When to use the PD-scan tag.
