Description

A McDonnell F-4B Phantom II (BuNo 150449) of Fighter Squadron 161 (VF-161) "Chargers" landing on the aircraft carrier USS Coral Sea (CVA-43), in 1967. VF-161 was assigned to Attack Carrier Air Wing 15 (CVW-15) aboard the Coral Sea for a deployment to Vietnam from 26 July 1967 to 8 April 1968.

The Phantom is armed with four AIM-9D Sidewinder and two AIM-7 Sparrow air-to-air missiles. The F-4B 150449 was lost to ground fire over Vietnam on 29 December 1967. The crew, Lt J.F. Dowd and Lt(JG) G.K. Flint, survived.
