Summary[edit]

Description
English: The picture depicts a scene at Easter time from the Greek Catholic Cathedral of Hajdúdorog, Hungary. The bishop of the Byzantine Catholic Diocese of Hajdúdorog, Fülöp Kocsis is sitting on the episcopal throne (in the focus of the photo). There're four subdeacons around the bishop: one cantor (on the right of the bishop), one crosier holder (on the bishop's left) and two candle holders (one of them carrying a candlestick with three candles - that symbolizes the Trinity; and the other holds a candlestick with two candles - which symbolizes the two natures of Christ: divine and human). On the bottom of the page you can see the so-called Soldiers of Christ who are wearing a traditional black uniform, holding a saber and lining up in the cathedral. The Soldiers play major part in the Easter ceremonies. They start to be on guard at Christ's symbolic tomb from Good Friday till the end of Easter and they help the work of the bishop and the priests. Only unmarried men can apply for being a soldier voluntarily and this is a great honor.
Magyar: A kép a hajdúdorogi görög katolikus székesegyházban készült húsvét ünnepén. A fotó középpontjában a püspöki trónuson Kocsis Fülöp, hajdúdorogi görög katolikus püspök látható. A Krisztus katonák szerepe szinte kizárólag a húsvéti időszakra korlátozódik. Nagypéntektől kezdve húsvét végéig őrt állnak Krisztus jelképes sírjánál, és segítik a püspök illetve a papok munkáját. A katonák közé önkéntesen jelentkezhetnek nőtlen férfiak. Krisztus katonának lenni nagy megtiszteltetés.
