National )\luseum. Mr. Goldman left Washington late in December, 1910, and arrivedin the Canal Zone on the 28th of that month. He spent the followingsix months mainly in the Zone, giving special attention to the GatunLake area, where a luxuriant tropical forest will be replaced by a largelake. He reported that great changes, due to flooding, were alreadyobservable and that still greater ones were impending. The killing NO.
