Book Illustration. Screen shows two main exhibits: 1. The old methods of reproduction methods. 2. The new photographic methods. 1 includes the followings: a. The Nuremburg skeleton from one of the earliest printed books. 1493. Woodcut. b. Reproduction from an illuminated manuscript. c. Skeleton from the Fabrica of Vesalius. d. The 3rd plate from the Tabulae of Albinus. e. Etchings showing the foetus in utero. f. Lithograph by the elder Say for Richard Bright: Cases, 1833. Hydrosephalic of James Cardinal drawn by George Scharf. h. Lithograph by Percy Highley, 1892, for Gordon brodie: Dissection illustrated. f, g and h might be useful for pathological exhibition. 2 includes illustrations of: a. Spinal curvature from Sayre 1877. b. Diseases of the bone. c. A zinc edged line block showing mother and foetus in utero. d. Grain photogravure showing radiographs of hand. e. Photolithograph showing skull and hand with samllpox lesions (in colour). f. Photograph of the brain in flexichrome process (combination of the work of artist and photographer, (Kodak, 1932). Exhibit showing the reproduction of a complete book by photographic methods (offset photolithography). The exhibit includes a book reproduced by this method.
