NEW AND MORE BEAUTIFUL PORTION. 87 with each alternately.—All this is performedwith a swinging motion, so that the end of eachsceptre describes a circle which commencesbefore the head, descends obliquely backward,and ascends again. 2d. After carrying the sceptre in the righthand from the same position around the headand left shoulder, as already described, it isstretched horizontally outward by the extendedarm, (see Plate XX, fig. 1); — and thencereturned to the first position;—the same is thendone with the left hand;—and so on with eachalternately.—The swing is here broken by thelateral extension. 3d.
