Triptych Center Panel with Mary and Her Son and Christ Teaching the Apostles |

Description |
English: The imposing figures of Mary with Her Son dominate the center scene. The large, watchful eyes, always powerful in Ethiopian icons, are especially impressive here, as are the fine details of the speckled and jeweled robes. The resurrected Christ, seen at the upper left, holds a small cross and the hands of Adam and Eve as symbols of victory over death. |
