Eesti: Bisbee’st Arizonast pärineval türkiisil on intensiivne sinine värv. Türkiisidele annab iseloomuliku sinise värvuse mineraali kristallstruktuuris esinev vask. Põhilised leiukohad on seotud vasemaagi lasunditega ning sealne türkiis on tekkinud algse vasemaagi murenemisel. Tänu oma erilisele värvusele ning vaatamata suhteliselt madalale tugevusele on türkiisi läbi sajandite laialdast kasutust leidnud ehtekivina. English: Turquoise with intense blue colour from Bisbee. The characteristic blue colour of turquoise is due to copper in its crystal structure. The mineral itself is usually found in assemblages with copper ores. Turquoise has formed as the secondary mineral in weathering processes of primary ore. Despite considerably low hardness of turquoise the fine specimens of turquoise have been widely used for making gems. More info about this file and about this specimen at geocollections.info
