Description
English: This crimson banner of silk taffeta, exhibited in the Municipal Archives of Cartagena (Spain), was one of the nine commissioned by the City Council of Cartagena in 1605, among which one showed the royal coat of arms while the rest showed the municipal coat of arms. Later it was sewn to the banner of the Urban Militia of 1782, and it was not rediscovered until the restoration process of that started in 2016, when both insignia were disjoined.
Español: Este estandarte carmesí de tafetán de seda, expuesto en el Archivo Municipal de Cartagena (España), era uno de los nueve encargados por el Concejo de Cartagena en 1605, de entre los cuales uno mostraba el escudo real mientras el resto portaba el blasón municipal. Posteriormente fue cosido al estandarte de la Milicia Urbana de 1782, y no fue redescubierto hasta el proceso de restauración de aquel iniciado en 2016, momento en que fueron desunidas ambas insignias.
