A Nazaré tem um novo símbolo. Uma estátua de uma veado oferecida pela escultora Adália Alberto ao Município da Nazaré. A estátua "Veado" tem seis metros de altura e pesa 10 toneladas. A peça está a ser instalada neste preciso momento junto à estrada para o Forte de S.Miguel Arcanjo, no Sitio da Nazaré. O "veado" pretende ser uma representação da ligação entre o Milagre da Nazaré e a Onda da Praia do Norte. Sobre o Milagre da Nazaré, reza a lenda que, no século XII, D.Fuas Roupinho perseguia um veado quando, de repente, se viu no topo da falésia à beira do precipício. Nessa altura rogou a Nossa Senhora que o salvasse e não o deixasse cair.
