English: Coat of arms of the city of Chocontá; in Cundinamarca, Colombia.
Español: Escudo del municipio de Chocontá, Cundinamarca (Colombia). Consta de: Un círculo externo y otro más interior en color dorado, en cuyo ínter espacio de color blanco, en su parte superior se lee en letras negras "LEAL Y NOBLE VILLA" y en la parte inferior "DE SANTIAGO DE CHOCONTA”. Inmediatamente hacia el centro de los círculos sobre fondo verde oscuro, un lazo dorado igualmente en círculo y en su interior una cruz dorada, significado a la Santa Iglesia y Religión Católica y sobre la parte inferior del travesaño vertical, una corona en color dorado por fuera y carmesí al interior, que representa al Rey Católico, enseguida de la Cruz y Corona, hacia la parte inferior aparece las letras "N y R" y una granada que representa a la Patria y al Nuevo Reino de Granada. Seguidamente dos banderas sostenidas en sendas astas de color negro que tiene base en la Granada, un color azul de color carmesí y la otra blanca con cruz en color azul marino, dando a entender la quietud y la paz, las astas forman una "V" dentro de la cual van cruz, coronas, letras. Un lobo color marrón con la mano derecha abrazando el asta de la bandera azul y una espada de hoja plateada y empuñada negra con la punta hacia arriba, interceptada sobre la parte inferior de la asta de la bandera blanca, significado que como lobo ligero y guerrero fuerte se esta dispuesto a defender la sagrada religión al Rey y a la Patria. Igualmente una de las banderas y la espada, representa la insignia y trofeos con que se ha defendido en todos los tiempos el Apóstol Santiago, patrono de este lugar. Basado en [1]. |
