Description
Español: El Gobernador Intendente de la Provincia de Santa Cruz de la Sierra, don Francisco de Viedma, en el informe que remitió en 1788 al Virrey de Buenos Aires don Nicolás de Arredondo, al referirse a la ciudad de Cochabamba, expresó: “Esta ciudad, capital del gobierno, la fundó el señor D. Francisco de Toledo, Virrey del Perú, con el título de Villa de Oropesa en memoria de su casa, como hermano que era de los condes de ese nombre, y por este motivo las armas de que usa son las mismas de la dicha casa de Oropesa” (en Viedma, Francisco de.
