Description

Vane-ity, thy name is woman. No puns involving the word "blow" if you please.

Taken from <a href="https://archive.org/stream/lenuausalon14silv#page/n196/mode/1up" rel="nofollow">here</a>. I have searched in (ahem) vain for details of the artist, but with only one name and no biographical details anywhere else in the book that it came from, I've drawn a complete blank. Also, from the angle of the photo I can't even tell if this is full-figure or bas-relief, although the latter would obviously make more sense if it's meant to be a practical weather vane design.

If you do happen to visit the original you'll get an idea of how much work it takes to retouch old pictures like this. I'm sure I must have more than a touch of OCD and possibly Asperger's - the task would be mind-numbing if I didn't have such a numb mind to begin with.
