| Description |
English: Eriboll - Strath More road The almost abandoned road to Strathmore from Eriboll gives a very scenic journey on foot or bike. It may even still be a public road and I met someone on a normal road motorcycle travelling along it. There is a ford on the southern end. The road is an example of what Highland roads were like 100 years earlier, with the changing road surface and rivers to ford.
When the road was in general use, a ferry was sometimes provided across the river in Strath More. This is a view towards the northern end, near the junction with the coast road. This bit gets little traffic, estate vehicles travel in from Eriboll joining this road before the tarred hairpins up to the bealach. |
