Description

The Edmonton Swastikas fue un equipo de hockey femenino de la ciudad canadiense de Edmonton, en el estado de Alberta, que se formó en 1916.

Su equipamiento una esvástica rodeada por un círculo a modo de escudo, que hacía honor a su nombre. En aquel entonces, más de 15 años antes de que Hitler llevase al partido Nazi al poder en Alemania con este mismo símbolo, la esvástica era un símbolo común en muchas culturas sin ningún tipo de significado global.

No fue el primer equipo de hockey con esta simbología, le precedió un equipo masculino de Windsor, Ontario, y pocos años más tarde les sucedió otro equipo femenino, <a href="https://www.flickr.com/photos/recuerdosdepandora/6435356395/">The Fernie Swastikas</a>
