| Description |
Français : La charrette sicilienne ou carettu est une structure à deux roues utile aux paysans qui se rendaient au marché chaque matin. Pour rivaliser avec les nobles qu'ils servaient ils ont richement décoré leur charette de scènes historiques , ou de chanson à gestes comme la Chanson de Roland ou de scènes religieuses. Chacune est singulière et peut concourir lors d'une fête annuelle de commémoration de la victoire des Normands sur les Arabes. Avec l'arrivée des transports à moteur les charrettes ont perdu de leur importance. Cependant les Siciliens se sont adaptés et décorent aujourd'hui leur deux roues à moteur, le véhicule les plus adapté à se déplacer dans les rues de Sicile.
