| Description |
English: Enjoying the floods, Sedan Avenue, Omagh. Pictured in the days when it wasn't an issue to feature youngsters, but I think that these "50 year-olds" belonged to a different era. The entrance to the showgrounds was here and the building known as "The Pavilion" was to the left of it. I remember going to a flying display by the army in 1968 285496 and attending one of the annual Omagh Shows in 1971 282359
What is of historical interest are the selection of shops along Sedan Avenue, that are long since gone, but possibly if a local can fill me in here, I would be grateful. I think there was a sweet shop and a hairdressers on the left, and to the right and round the corner there was Coyles Calorgas Store and there may have been a bicycle shop owned by a wee man called Jimmy McCrory?
