Description
English: James Watt steam engine outline. Valves a and c are opened and steam gets out the cylinder to the condenser, while more steam gets in from upper, thus pushing the plunger down. Valves a and c are closed, b is opened, so steam goes to the bottom of the cylinder. Plunger moves up pushed by the heavy piston of the pump.
Español: Esquema de la máquina de vapor de James Watt. Con las válvulas a y c abiertas el pistón baja. El vapor sale hacia el condensador, mientras nuevo vapor entra en la parte superior, empujando el émbolo hacia abajo. Se cierran las válvulas a y c, se abre b, con lo que el vapor pasa de la parte superior a la inferior del cilindro. El émbolo se mueve hacia arriba empujado por el peso del pistón de la bomba.
